Lending a helping hand

This week, during a routine Pie in the Sky produce delivery, our team stepped inside a woman’s apartment and immediately felt the cold. Not the kind you shrug off, but the kind that settles into your bones.
Her heat wasn’t working.
With temperatures expected to drop dangerously low this weekend, not having heat isn’t just uncomfortable, it’s unsafe. She shared her situation quietly, the way so many do when they’re used to getting by without asking for help.
Thankfully, the answer was already waiting.
We had a portable heater in our warehouse, and within moments it was on its way to her home. A simple thing, but one that meant warmth, safety, and peace of mind when she needed it most.
This is the heart of Pie in the Sky. We don’t just deliver produce. We notice. We listen. We respond. And time and time again, our Pie community shows up to meet real needs with compassion and care.
We are honored to serve these beautiful souls throughout St. Johns County, and endlessly grateful to be surrounded by a community that believes no one should face the cold alone.
