Pie in the Sky delivers produce to low-income seniors every week from our warehouse at 134 Riberia Street Unit 4, St. Augustine, FL. Volunteers are always needed to help bag groceries and make deliveries to our seniors. We deliver Tuesdays and Wednesdays - being a volunteer driver is absolutely the best volunteer job ever! We work Mondays and Tuesdays bagging fresh produce and other grocery items. Most opportunities usually take 1 to 3 hours a week. To find out how you can be a part of the Pie in the Sky team, call or email Program Manager, Phyllis Wood at 904-217-4863, firstname.lastname@example.org. or click on the button to fill out a brief application.
Your donation helps us deliver fresh produce to the homes of 550 low-income seniors in all four corners of our community. In 2022, 95 volunteers donated 5,510 hours of their time to drive 29,816 miles on 46 routes to deliver 106,230 pounds (that's 53 tons!) of premium fresh produce along with 71,256 pounds of donated food to 550 seniors throughout all of St. Johns County.
This year, the need is even greater and we can do more, serve more, help more, with your support.
Our seniors are always in need of basic items that can help them stretch their monthly income. When you see items on BOGO at the grocery store, please think about buying some for our seniors. Personal care items, pet food, toilet paper, laundry detergent are expensive luxury items for folks on a fixed income. Please help if you can. Consider a basic needs drive at your place of business, church or civic club. Every little bit helps us help them. For more information, call Malea at 904-382-9939.
