Giving Tuesday helps seniors all year long

On this Giving Tuesday, Pie in the Sky is reaching out with full hearts and an urgent hope.

This year brought the sharpest rise in need we have ever seen. Already, 260 new seniors have joined our program—more than all of last year—and by December we expect to serve 880 older neighbors. Every call is a reminder of what is at stake.

One of the calls that stays with us came from an 83-year-old woman living alone. When asked what food she had on hand, she said quietly, “A potato, half a cucumber, and some peanut butter. I guess I’m okay.”

That is what food insecurity looks like in St. Johns County. And it is happening behind doors we never see unless we knock.

Because of supporters like you, that same woman now receives a bag filled with fresh, healthy produce—8 to 12 items, about 16 pounds—delivered right to her door by a volunteer who knows her name, checks on her well-being, and reminds her she is not forgotten. What we provide is simple, but it is life-changing. It is dignity delivered.

Your Giving Tuesday Gift Helps a Senior All Year Long:

$83 per month:

Provides a full year of produce for a senior—24 deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables and the human connection that brings light to a lonely week.

$250 per quarter:

Covers three months of healthy food and wellness checks for a senior who cannot safely reach a food pantry.

$1,000 per year:

Supports 26 deliveries—enough to keep one senior nourished, stable, and seen all year long.

Any amount:

Helps us answer every call, knock on every door, and ensure no senior is left behind.
